A master of the flute.
A teacher of life.

Annie Laflamme was born in Sept-Îles, a small town on the banks of the St. Lawrence River in Quebec.
As a descendant of French immigrants, she grew up with a deep connection to European culture. After her studies in Montreal, she followed her passion to Europe – first to Vienna, later to the Royal Conservatoire in The Hague, where she specialized in historical flutes.
Today she performs with some of the most important ensembles in the international early music scene and appears on major stages throughout Europe. Her concert tours have taken her across Europe, America, and Asia. Numerous CD recordings and radio broadcasts document her artistic work.
But what makes Annie special is not just her musical excellence. It is her ability to empathetically convey the profound experiential knowledge gained from a fulfilling life as a musician.

About Me
Vita
While Baroque music flourished in 18th-century Paris, seven small islands in the icy St. Lawrence River in Canada were the destination of French emigrants in the New World. Septe-Îles—as this place is still known today—is where I was born, some 250 years later, as a descendant of these emigrants. As a native of Quebec, I feel as connected to the language of old France as I do to the music of the Old World. After studying flute in Montreal, I was drawn back to Europe, to the musical metropolis of Vienna. There I encountered the "New World of Early Music," which profoundly influenced me. I then furthered my studies at the Royal Conservatoire in The Hague. Today I live in Germany and specialize in historical flutes of the Baroque, Classical, and Romantic periods. I collaborate with renowned ensembles such as Les Musiciens du Louvre (Marc Minkowski), Musicaeterna / Utopia (Teodor Currentzis), Concentus Musicus Wien, Collegium 1704 (Václav Luks), and Oh! Orkiestra (Martyna Pastuszka). My concert career as a soloist, chamber musician, and orchestral musician, as well as my work as a passionate teacher, takes me throughout Europe, America, and Asia. Numerous CD recordings and radio broadcasts document my artistic work.
